Horse Riding in Hisaronu

Wow, not often the Watson-Trants agree on enjoying an activity 100%!

We were picked up at 10:00 am prompt outside our apartments in a rickety old minibus, which already contained another family of four. Down a beaten track - no fun in a vehicle without much in the way of suspension - around a few twisty bend and we arrived at 'The Ranch'.

Heidi was the first to mount up on Songul, Sally sat proudly on 'the white one' called Marvis, Sue had Simsek (translates as 'the barber'), and Martin was on Raki - the Turkish equivalent of 100 proof spirit. That day, however, Raki must have had a hangover, as he knew his place... right at the back, getting slower and slower. Suddenly, a cloud of dust, shouts of "Go, Raki, go!" from the young boy accompanying us, and Watson of Arabia was trotting fast to catch up!

We ambled amidst beautiful pine forests, upwards and upwards. At the top we were treated to a stunning view of Olu Deniz. The obligatory ice box was already there, having preceded us on the back of a motorbike, and we enjoyed drinks and a well earned rest.

We did it!

We did it!

Yes, after an engagement that has lasted for almost fifteen years now, we were married on Saturday 21st July 2007 at St Johns Church in Cononley. We had a fantastic day! If you would like to watch a short slideshow (best with ADSL - it will take a short while to load - just wait..) then please click here. You can also find photos of our big day (and the honeymoon) in our galleries.
